We're trying potty training for O... yesterday we had lots of oopsies in the undies; sit and pee, walk down the hall and pee again. Fresh undies and pants and repeat the process. We were beat at the end of the day.
Today, nary a drop! O wore the same undies all day.
We'll see what Monday and only one parent to police the effort brings!

Owen has pretty reliably put poop in the potty since we returned from our trip 3 weeks ago. He announces "poop, poop." We all run to the potty, drop dipe, and in goes poop. Great!
The past few days he has also been telling me "poop" right before he goes pee in his diaper
- no time to run to the potty. But today as I was changing his diaper right before nap, he says poop so I put him down sans diaper. He walked across the hall, sat on the potty, arranged his penis, sat, and then stood up to check. nothing. So he repeated the motions, got things pointed the right way, concentrated, and out came pee!!!!

Owen is laughing and loving life most of the time. His first year molars are all just about through. He looooves cuddles and hugs - people and stuffed animals. Animal and other sounds figures highly. Anything round - wheel, ball, fans - are of great interest. Even playing ring AROUND the rosey. He has a few words but mostly we get by with sign language. Looves his big sis.
Owen notices his clothes -- especially the shoes, loves a checking out his toes with animals. He's big into animal sounds, bvoo (moo), woof, may-ow (meow) and is learning body parts - nose was a favorite, now it's the belly button. he loves reading books. This morning, besides his short
nap, he's been busy with the FP airplane, the tool bench (screws), a tonka diecast dumptruck, shapesorters, disassembling the vaporizer, and balls. Oh, singing and dancing too. He's still earning that the sidewalk and street are very different places - he thinks it's a game :( we're working on it. "out" is a favorite word too.

Last weekend was Owen's first trip to the snow and Teresa's first since she was 1. Both delighted in the cold stuff.
Teresa tried out her new skis and snowshoes and did a great job on both. She says she will ski more when she's bigger. I guess we need to save our pennies. She loved making and tossing snowballs, especially making them go plop in the street.
Owen found icy puddles to break the surface of and submerge his feet in with great stomping splashes. Rides on the sleds brought beaming smiles with glittery eyes.

New tricks
Owen is delightfully dancing around the living room this morning. Dancing is his great new sport - started yesterday while we waited for the library to open. He danced around in circles while Teresa ran. This morning he began more spontaneous dancing.
And two days ago Owen decided to see if he could feed Mama treats. He was DELIGHTED when Mama accepted a nibble from his cracker. Yesterday Mama was fed O's.

Owen's walking skills are more tempered than big sis' progress 2 years ago. Now 4 week after his first steps he's content for a handful of steps at a time, though can do 20+ steps in sequence, with purposefully executed turns when pursuing goals -- generally acceptable goals are mama, mama. or maybe mama. heh.

Peekaboo!
Owen has (rather spontaneously) started playing peekaboo.. I'm not sure if Mom or Teresa taught him, but he loves to engage his audience by covering his eyes and then giving a big smile!
We need more fiber!
In contrast with Teresa, who had really soft poops for *long* time, Owen has always had some nice, firm, easy to dump in the toilet poops. However, recently Owen has been working really hard to get them out... So Doc has prescribed a proscribed diet of meat and fruit: no dairy, no breads. So far, no results, tho..
